Miami Vice Night July 23rd
Miami Vice Night
One Night. One Drink.
On Thursday, July 24, we’re handing the menu over to a single cocktail.
The Miami Vice.
A layered combination of strawberry daiquiri and piña colada served snow cone style and available from open to close for one night only.
No special menu.
No tickets.
No reservations.
Just a summer classic made the Anna’s Place way.
What Is a Miami Vice?
If a strawberry daiquiri and a piña colada had a very good idea together, it would be a Miami Vice.
Sweet strawberries.
Creamy coconut.
Bright citrus.
A little rum.
Served ice cold.
It’s one of the most recognizable tropical cocktails ever created, and for one night we’re building the entire evening around it.
Why Is It Called a Miami Vice?
Nobody seems to agree on exactly who invented the Miami Vice, which feels appropriate.
The drink became popular during the tropical cocktail boom of the 1970s and 1980s, eventually becoming a staple at beach bars, resorts, cruise ships, and poolside vacations across the country.
The idea is simple. Take two of the most iconic frozen cocktails ever created, a strawberry daiquiri and a piña colada, and layer them together in a single glass.
Some people associate it with the television show Miami Vice. Others insist the drink already existed before the show became popular. Either way, the name stuck.
Unlike many classic cocktails, the Miami Vice isn’t famous because it’s complicated. It’s famous because it’s fun.
For one night, we’re bringing it downtown.
